Egypt to discuss export of pharmaceutical raw materials to German Merck

The Egyptian Chemicals and Fertilizers Export Council, in cooperation with the Egyptian Trade Service Office in Berlin, Germany, held a series of bilateral meetings on March 17 with officials from the German company Merck Group to discuss the latter’s desire to import pharmaceutical raw materials from Egyptian companies. .

Chairman of the Chemicals and Fertilizers Export Council, Khaled Abu Al-Makarem, said a list of companies producing items the German company would like to import from Egypt is being prepared for the next meeting between the two parties.

Abu Al-Makarem added that the board had made it clear in its correspondence to the Egyptian Trade Department in Berlin, Germany, that it was fully ready to receive the company after identifying the companies it wishes to work with and preparing field visits to visit agreed factories.

According to the Berlin office, there are many ways to cooperate in finding an export opportunity for sectors affiliated with the Chemicals and Fertilizers Export Council, which are represented in a number of mechanisms such as trade missions on the German market and buyer missions on the Egyptian market.

This is in addition to the specialized international exhibitions where the council sent a presentation on itself and the sectors it is affiliated with as well as a statement of the elements affiliated with the council and the customs process. This is to identify the targeted sectors for entry into the German market as well as the appropriate mechanism for this.

Abu Al-Makarem disclosed that the council has asked the trade office in Berlin to provide a list of companies importing council-affiliated products.
