Exports of pharmaceutical products fall by 3.25% in 3 quarters – Company

Pharmaceutical exports in March 2022 were recorded at US$21.965 million.

ISLAMABAD (APP) – The country’s pharmaceutical exports fell by 3.25% in the first three quarters of the fiscal year (2021-22) compared to the corresponding period last year.

Pakistan exported pharmaceuticals worth US$200.529 million in July-March (2021-22) compared to the export of US$207.269 million in July-March (2020-21), showing a negative growth of 3.25%, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).

In terms of quantity, however, exports of pharmaceutical products increased by 7.60 percent from 18,930 metric tons to 20,262 metric tons, the data showed.

Meanwhile, year-on-year, exports of pharmaceutical products decreased by 3.61% during the month of March 2022 compared to the same month last year.

Pharmaceutical exports in March 2022 were recorded at $21.965 million compared to an export of $22.788 million in March 2021, PBS data revealed.

On a monthly basis, exports of pharmaceutical products fell by 6.89% in March 2022, compared to $23.590 million in February 2022.
