Harnessing biodiversity parks to develop new pharmaceuticals: LG at DPSRU

Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal on Thursday advised the Delhi Pharmaceutical Science and Research University (DPSRU) to harness the city’s biodiversity parks to develop new commercially viable herbal pharmaceuticals.

Baijal made suggestions during the fourth DPSRU General Council meeting with the Vice Chancellor and other members of the Council.

”Presided over the fourth meeting of the General Council of Delhi Pharmaceutical Science and Research University (DPSRU) with the Vice Chancellor and other members of the Council. The Board reviewed and approved the annual report for the year 2019-20 and also deliberated on the CAG audit report for the years 2015-2021,’ Baijal said in a series of tweets.

”Advised the University to harness the city’s biodiversity parks to develop new commercially viable herbal pharmaceuticals. Also advised university authorities to strengthen their internal accounting procedures and take the necessary measures to respond to the observations made by the CAG,” he added.

Baijal also suggested that the university should focus on extensive research and development activities while fostering links with industry and striving for the highest standards of excellence.
